Why ABC Time Preschool

We start with a strong foundation–a highly qualified teacher, dedicated to fostering the development of the whole child, socially and emotionally, as well as academically.
We continue with a welcoming space and an environment that engages each child. Next, we enroll a limited amount of children ages 2.5 – 5 years old to ensure more individual attention.
Then we have lots of fun while we learn and explore science, literacy, math, and the arts! We finish with constantly communicating with our parents regarding each child’s growth, building a home/school connection.
That’s how we create a preschool for each child to succeed, while instilling in them a love for learning.

Miss Felicia.

I have been teaching for over 20 years in a variety of capacities, however my passion has always been working with pre-school age children. I love their natural curious nature and being able to use their curiosity to open the door to endless learning opportunities. I am a mother myself to 2 school age children. I understands the difficulty in finding quality care in a structured, playful learning environment. It was one of the reason I chose to open ABC Time Home Preschool. I hold a Master Teacher Credential in Early Childhood Development from the State of California Teaching Commission and a Bachelor Degree from Florida State University. I am CPR certified and holds a Childcare Health & Safety Certification.

At ABC Time Preschool we do not subscribe to only one teaching methodology. Instead we take the best practices from each to ensure a comprehensive learning environment. This allows each child to explore a variety of ways to learn, and become an active participant in their learning.

Our Curriculum: Theme- based
We use fun, age-appropriate themes to provide a meaningful, interesting context to learn pre-reading and math skills, as well as to introduce the children to the wonderful world of science.

Activities

PLAY, LEARN, and GROW–Bringing FUN to the learning process!

At ABC Time Home Preschool we understand that the best way for children to learn is through hands on, multi-sensory experiences. That is why we use dramatic play, music, reading, art, and science to explore our themes. We use each medium to allow for an immersive learning experience.
Some activities include re-telling stories by acting them out, listening & dancing to music related to the theme, arts & crafts, science experiments such as OOblick, Gak, and Exploding rainbows to name a few. Our activities are designed with purpose and bring FUN to the learning process.

Additionally, we have an Emmy nominated music teacher that visits every other week. This is just another example of the high quality activities we offer.

Friendship

Smiles and laughter are daily occurrences as the children form friendships and use teamwork to come together. Days are filled with new discoveries, friends, and happy memories.
Building friendships are important to social development. Learning to listen, taking turns, cooperation and patience are important skills to practice and develop during these formative years.
Our small group dynamic allows for more interaction and is optimal for developing lasting friendships.

Development

We offer group as well as individual activities so that each child can progress at their natural pace, ensuring success as they move through our program. It is important to us that every child is given the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to be successful in Kindergarten and beyond. Therefore, we teach to the child’s ability and interest. We do this by working 1-1 with each child and develop fun activities to teach specific skills.

We also know that social & emotional development is just as important as cognitive development. Many kindergarten teachers would argue that the social/emotional development of a child is more important to them and the child’s success in school. The small group dynamic of our class allows the children to really interact with one another and learn listening skills, the importance of waiting one’s turn and taking turns, as well as how to share with one another. When situations arise, as they always do with children, we talk about how things make us feel, and how what we say and do affects our friends. The children in our program grow to be compassionate, caring children with an awareness for those around them.

Emotionally, we help our younger children with any attachment issues they may have in a supportive, caring manner. For our older children, we encourage independence and taking responsibility for their belongings. An important skill to learn as they move on to Kindergarten.

Mrs. Felicia and ABC Home Preschool was the best find for my daughter. I wish we had teachers like her in the school district. My daughter learned so much from attending her school. They did reading, math, science, music. It was so much more than a home preschool. It was such a great feeling knowing my daughter was having fun and getting educated. That she was in a safe place while I was at work. We started just when my daughter turned 3. If you are looking for a safe place that provides and atmosphere of learning and fun this is the place. Mrs. Felicia is the best we could have ever asked for. I was very nervous picking a school out for our daughter. We could have not have gotten more lucky than we did with ABC Time Preschool! Not only is her school organized and structured, her style of teaching is unsurpassed for this age group. She takes the the time everyday to talk to you about your child’s day. There is lots of individual attention as well as great group play with all the kids. Small class size, great group of kids. I am so glad to have found ABC Time Preschool for my 2 and half year old son.I am from France, and I have no grand parents to take care of my son so I had to find someone I can trust.My son is so happy since his first day, and I am so confident in Felicia.She has taught my son many, many things from farm animals to fairy tails, transportation, community helpers, dinosaurs, and this week, plants where she had them grow their own!
Felicia helps my son in his motor skills. At ABC Time they draw, cut, and paint almost every day. Felicia teaches him songs, and of course his ABCs. She also makes sure he is learning his english  (my son is bi-lingual), and in the 6 months he has been with her, there is huge progress in his speech.
I was worried about potty training, and when my son was ready (and me too!), she helped him to go on a potty every hour at first, and when he was ready to ask, gave him a sticker every time he went.My son was so proud, in less than a month my son was potty trained!
Felicia also teaches my son good manners, healthy habits, and makes sure he’s listening, and is polite. Felicia cleans and vacuums every day, her home is immaculate!
I recommend ABC Time Home Preschool to every parent who is looking for a safe place, one-on-one attention for their child, and a place that allows their child to grow the best way they can.

This at home preschool is fabulous. My son absolutely loves going there and doesn’t want to come home when I go pick him up 😉 I feel VERY comfortable dropping him off (which as a parent you know is the most important). The teacher is wonderful with all her students, I highly recommend 🙂

ABC Time Preschool is by far the best choice you could ever make for your child.
My daughter Lexi has been at ABC Time Preschool for almost 1 year. The best part about going to work each day is that I know she is in the best hands, and in a loving and nurturing environment.
ABC Time Preschool is immaculately clean, and Felicia provides a wonderful learning environment for all the children that attend her school.
The attention Lexi receives, the communication from Felicia, the art she brings home everyday and the stories she tells me about school, all reflect a happy child.
Lexi is always excited to go school each and every day.
Miss Felicia helps with Lexi’s potty training, promotes good manners, and keeps her clean with a change of clothes, she even changes her clothes when the weather changes from hot to cold.
When I ask Lexi who her best friends are she always answers with each child’s name from school. Lexi can count on her own and knows all of her ABC’s.
The best part is because of the loving and nurturing environment she is in each day, she has become a more loving a nurturing child. I believe kids learn from their environment.
